Data Science Nigeria (DSN) products perform amazingly in 3 day hackaton


In a recently organised hackaton, participants in this year's DSN boot camp were chosen to work with real life data and the results are amazing.  It shows that Nigeria really got brains. Here was  what Mr. Bayo Adekanbi, one of the founding members of DSN had to say -  *DataHack 2018: How we raised the bar & humbling feedback*

Dear friends,
It’s already 2 years since we kicked off Data Science Nigeria  and one of the best anniversary gifts was the opportunity to get 50 awesome budding data scientists to engage real world dataset of a leading bank in the country.It’s a proof of our evolution!

Kudos to the guys who spent 3 days doing intensive work at the Hackathon.
This has further validated our cause and reinforced the value we bring to the table as a solid AI learning community.

It’s therefore very humbling for me to share this private chat with one of the most respected Nigeria business leaders.  He has got good things to say about the community.

Our journey of impact is just about to begin...

Bollywood icon Irrfan Khan dies aged 54

Irrfan Khan, a veteran character actor in Bollywood movies and one of India's best-known actors in Hollywood, has died after being admitted to Mumbai’s Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani hospital with a colon infection. He was 54 years old. Khan played the police in Millionaire” and the park executive Masrani in “Jurassic World.” He also appeared in “The Amazing Spider-Man” and the adventure fantasy “Life of Pi.” Khan was diagnosed with a rare neuroendocrine cancer in 2018 and wrote that “I trust, I have surrendered,” in a heartfelt note after he broke the news of his battle with cancer. Khan won a number of film awards in India, including a 2012 Indian National Film Award for best actor for his performance in “Paan Singh Tomar,” a compelling tale of a seven-time national champion athlete who quit India’s armed forces to rule the Chambal ravines in central India. Khan received an Independent Spirit Award for supporting actor in 2006 for the Indian-American drama “The Namesake”
