 Nigerian's First lady, Dame Patience Jonathan gave reasons why her husband deserves to be re-elected for a second term. the First lady was in Ikom, Cross River State for the continuation of the PDP's nationwide Women rally to solicit for vote for her husband. She said Jonathan has done enough to earn a second term in office.   Speaking shortly after commissioning the 6,000 seating capacity ultra modern Ikom Township Stadium, Mrs Jonathan said: “I came to thank you for keeping to your promise in 2011 to vote for my husband. And I want to use this opportunity to appeal to you to repeat the same thing in the March 28 presidential election.”

NAFDAC Destroys N500 m worth of Fake Drugs

Barely three months after the National Agency for Food, Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) destroyed expired, adulterated and substandard items seized from Enugu, Ebon Paul  Orhii and his team  were in Awka the Anambra state capital for a similar assignment. This time unwholesome, fake and expired items estimated at almost N500 million were  seized from manufacturers, importers, traders and destroyed. He also noted that  a larger percentage of the fake and expired drugs   were willingly and voluntarily handed over by the traders. The NAFDAC boss and his team who were accompanied by security officials , while    commending the traders for opting to hand over expired and substandard products in their possession, disclosed that their visit was to destroy the items and thus ensure  they did not find their way  back into the markets.

Saha backs Falcao to Silence critics

Mourinho says chelsea deserves to loose

Jose Mourinho accepted that Chelsea deserved to loose in Tuesday's 1-1 draw at Parc des princes. Edinson Cavani's second-half header ensured that the points were shared after Branslav Ivanovic's first half header munites before half time. Mourinho saw his side beaten 3-1 at Parc des Princes last season and he was pleased with how his side performed at the french side this year despite accepting that they performed inferiory to their opponents. Obamas bid to save illegal Imigrants from deportation has been blocked

  US President, Barack Obama 's plan to protect millions of illegal immigrants from deportation has been temporarily blocked by a Federal judge in Texas. Obama issued two executive orders on November 21, 2014, in a bid to reform the country’s immigration system which he said had “been broken for a very long time.” However, Judge Andrew Hanen on Monday, February 16, ruled for a temporary stay on Obama’s plans after a suit challenging the executive orders was filed by 26 states.

Governor Oshiomole accuses Federal Government of Stealing N800 million

Governor Adams Oshiomhole  has accused the  Federal Government of stealing N800 million for a water project that was never executed in Okpella, Etsako East Local Government Area Edo state. Speaking on Monday at the flag-off of the 24-km Ogiriga-Afokpella-Okugbe-Imiekuri-Ohu road project with a spur to Awuyemi in Okpella, the second road project to be so flagged-off in the state within a week , Oshiomhole said records in the Ministry  of water resources, Abuja, shows that the project has been completed, yet no water pipe has been laid in the area. Adams Oshiomole said that he is very happy to be here to fulfill one of the promises he made to the people of this community. he said that they have built schools, created roads and water. he further said that he believes that the primary purpose of government is to bring development to the people. He said he is very happy to hear from His highness that the people of the state know that the  projects of his tenure are not false.

Nigerian Students in Canadian Universities protest over Boko haram Insurgency

Following the worrisome acts of the Boko Haram group in Nigeria, Nigerian students in Canada have expressed their concerns over the situation by protesting in their universities on Saturday. The students who are schooling in York University, Canada  said the government should step-up strategies that will address the situation. President, NSA, York University, Ms. Mary Asekome, expressed disappointment in Nigerian government saying it has not been tackling the situation in accordance to the rule of law. Asemoke accused the government of continuously failing to demonstrate any serious intention to stop the activities of the dangerous terrorist group over the past six years despite pressure from within the country and from international community.
