Zamfara Government has assigned four professors and one doctor to put write a book form of the history of Zamfara state. The state’s Commissioner of Budget and Planning, Alhaji Ibrahim Birnin-Magaji, made the disclosure in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday, on preparations to mark the 20th year anniversary of the state since its creation. He said the professors would be led on the assignment by a professor of history at the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria and an indigene of the state, Prof. Kabir Suleiman. This is on account that there is no written documentation or the state's history apart from the one written years ago by Garba Duba

The announcement was made via a statement released by the Acting Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Alhaji Muhammadu Maccido on Thursday, September 29. The statement reads: “The Minister of Interior, Lt Gen (rtd) Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau, while making the declaration on behalf of the Federal Government, congratulates Nigerians at home and abroad on the commemoration of this year’s independence anniversary and assures them that Government is working assiduously to put in place various palliative measures to cushion the effects of the current economic challenges.” The initial date, October 1 falls on Saturday which is a work free day that is why is had to be postponed till Monday, October 3 to mark Nigeria's 56th Independence Source: pulseng
