CELEBRITY LOVE STORY COMPILATION

             (REMA)

SHORT STORY

I met someone on Tiktok, we chatted for a few days and he invited me to his place in Lagos, I was living in Ibadan. Although anxious about visiting because of the current situation of our dear country, I still gathered courage and agreed to go.

I arrived at Lagos two days after he transferred the transportation fare to me. I was picked up from the park by a very handsome man who wasn't my host because he was fair and my host was dark in complexion.

We got to the house and met Bukola, the man I came to see. He gave me a tight hug but I immediately dodged him when he tried to kiss my lips. I noticed the disappointment on his face and his indifference in character towards me afterwards.

He stayed back in the room after dropping my small traveling box and I was left alone in the living room. He couldn't even offer me anything, although I would have declined even if he did.

To my surprise, he was just squatting at his friend's place, he didn't own the place as he claimed. He's friend later came out of his own room after he realized that I was alone in the sitting room. He asked if I wanted to eat but I politely declined, it would be a bit improper if I were to accept anything immediately I got there.

He sat down quietly at the other end of the long couch, then later he asked if I wanted to watch a movie for entertainment and he switched on the TV even before I could say anything.

"We can watch Netflix." He said as he picked up the remote control again. I stopped him and told him that I only watch these CEO story Chinese movies that can be found on YouTube with English Sub.

"I don't have such movies." He said and I smiled.

"I have them on my phone, there's one that I haven't even watched." I said and immediately went to my YouTube app to show him the movie.

He politely asked if he could sit closer to me and I agreed. We sat close to each other and watched the movie. He was beginning to enjoy it because he was laughing so hard.

"This AI translation is crazy. One person is making so many different sounds when talking but I must say their story is impressive." He complimented.

The movie ended and I played him another one which I have already watched. He leaned forward trying to see the actors clearly in my small phone.

"You can lay back and watch, hold the phone. Since I have already watched it I will understand even without seeing their faces." I said to him and he collected the phone from me.

"You can just forward that part, it's not really important." I said to him when we got to a kissing scene.

"Why is it not important? Every part of a movie is important and I love watching kissing scenes, that way I will learn." He responded to me.

"Learn what?" I asked and he started laughing.

"Why is your face so serious? It's just a kissing scene, relax I will forward it." He said and quickly fast forward it.

When the movie ended, he picked up his phone.

"I want to order for something to eat, what would you like?" He asked and I told him.

"Fruit salad and any milky drink." He ordered that as well and even ordered shawarma, my favorite.

The rider arrived very early and he went to collect it. He gave me mine and brought out his, two plates of jellof rice and a whole chicken for both.

"You can eat chicken if you want to, I don't mind sharing with you." He said to me and I smiled.

Bukola came out right after we started eating and said with a smile.

"I know that I can never be wrong. My guy, you order what I like, the aroma called me here." He said and carried the other plate from the table without asking for permission.

"What if your guest have not eaten?" James asked and Bukola giggled like it wasn't something serious.

"C'mon bro but I can see her eating nah."

After they finished eating, Bukola simply got up and went back to the room, he couldn't even clear his plate and the mess he made. James and I were the ones who cleared it for him.

"Uhm, give me a few minutes. I need to talk to my friend, I will back." James said and went inside. God knows I didn't want to eavesdrop but I was just too curious to sit still.

As I lean against the door to listen in on their conversation, I heard Bukola telling James with excitement that he just won a lottery.

"What lottery did you win?" James asked him and Bukola hit his hand on something that made a loud sound.

"Guy, you know that babe I have been telling you about. The one in Lekki." Bukola said and James asked.

"Oh, the mini skirt girl we both met at the beach, the one you confidently claimed that she looked like Ayra starr. What happened to her?"

"My guy, you don too remember. Nothing happened to her, you know that I have been texting this girl and trying to convince her to come and see me at your place. She has refused severally but just few minutes ago, this girl hala me." Bukola narrated and laughed after each sentence he made.

"Why she call you, get to the point already." James said getting a bit annoyed.

"She asked me to come to her place instead. She promised to give me a most pleasurable time, infact I am going there today." Bukola said.

"You are not being serious, what about the babe in the living room. What happens to her, you invited her here and you want to go and meet another woman, when we will you change? When will you ever change guy? Hey, my God." James lamented, I couldn't believe my ears. I began to curse at Bukola in my mind, I didn't understand how some men could be so disgusting.

"Forget about that babe, do you know when she arrived I tried to kiss her and she refused, when we both entered the bedroom, Guy I touched this girl yansh and she push me away, she almost slapped me. The girl is just one of those uptight girls who can't give a man what he wants."

"Still, what are we going to do?" James asked him and he responded.

"What are we going to do as how? Allow her stay here nah, after a few days of not seeing me at home, she will leave by herself. I know women that much and I don't have to even pay for her transportation back to where she's coming from."

James tried to convince him not to do that but Bukola left anyways to meet his new girl.

"Where did your friend go to?" I asked James, pretending not to know.

"Uhm, he had somewhere urgent to be." James responded.

"And where is that?" I asked.

"Look, I need to be honest with you. Bukola doesn't want you to stay anymore but he didn't want to tell you. He actually left to meet another woman." James finally said the truth.

"To be honest, I know." I told him.

"Really?" He said surprised. I had to tell him that I was eavesdropping, I also told him that I already called my mom to lend me some money and I would be returning home the next day since it was late already.

"Can you not go?" James asked to my surprise.

"You want me to stay?" I asked him and he nodded before saying.

"Yes. What if Bukola left you after inviting you all the way to Lagos, I am here, let me take you out and show you around for a day or two before you return. I also promise to pay your transportation so that you can refund your mom's money."

"Wow, alright, I will stay back for two more days." I said feeling a bit happy that I didn't have to return early. We had so much fun for the next two days that I didn't even have time to think about what Bukola did.

"Gosh, I am so tired. That was such a fun party." I said as I rested my back on the chair.

"Wait till you attend Rema's concert with me." James said and sat down beside me.

"Concert? When is that?" I asked and he responded.

"Tomorrow night. It's going to be lit, mad crowds over there. Thank goodness I managed to get us a ticket very quickly and so we will be able to stay close to the stage." I was so happy that I was completely speechless. In Ibadan, I rarely go out, I always stay home and claim to be an indoor person but now I will be attending my favorite artist concert.

"I didn't even ask, do you like Rema?" James asked, he was probably thinking that I wasn't happy about the event.

"Offcourse I do, I love him. I am a big fan." I responded and even sang one of his song, my all time favorite 'calm down'

"That's great. It means you're going to be happy to be there." James said and I smiled.

Tomorrow came quickly, I was eager for evening to come so that we can start preparing to go to the venue.

The concert started soon and my God, for the first time ever I saw Rema live, it was the most beautiful moment of my life. I have been dreaming about the day I will meet him and here it is.

He performed several songs including "Ozeba" and I vibed to it with joy.

"I'm gonna call someone on stage right now, any beautiful lady from the audience to join me while I perform the next song CALM DOWN." The ladies were screaming at the top of their lungs and raising their hands for him to see them.

I didn't even do all that because, what the hell! Rema can never call me on stage when there are so many beautiful ladies in the audience to catch his eyes.

"You, the lady over there." I heard Rema say but I was still responding to my mom's text that didn't know who he was talking to.

Suddenly, a bright light came onto my face and I felt a tug on my arm. I looked up and saw James shouting.

"He's talking to you." He kept yelling at me. I was dumbstruck when I looked at the stage and saw Rema's finger pointing towards my direction, he was calling me to come and the bright light was turned towards me.

I made my way forward, squeezing and pushing my way across until I got to the stage. I couldn't climb up and I could not go the staircase that was at the other side, I can only do that if I am ready to be choked to death.

"Hold my hands." Rema said to me as he bent down to pull me up. I quickly gave him my arm and he pulled me up, I staggered and fell into his arms when I got on stage and the crowd roared.

"Are you okay?" He asked me and I nodded.

"Yes I am, thanks for calling me on stage." I said with a shy smile.

He started the performance, that night, he made me feel like a princess. Thousands of eyes all staring at me as he moved around me performing with so much love in his eyes or so I thought.

He ended the performance and the crowd went wild with screams and some even throwing their bras at him.

He helped me down the stage and went away, everyone still shouting and jumping with joy even as he was gone.

"Lucky you." James said to me with a smile.

What? I asked confused.

"You got the chance to be so close to your favorite artist at the very first time of meeting him." He said to clear my confusion.

"You're packing already? Are you that eager to leave?" James asked when he saw me packing my stuff very early in the morning.

"No, I just want to be prepared and I don't want to forget anything." I responded.

I had woken up early to make us breakfast, I also prepared three different types of soup and kept them in his fridge.

We had breakfast and sat down to watch a movie together before we heard a knock on the door.

"Hey, my guy. What's up, why are you here this early?" I heard James asked someone by the door.

"Guy, have you checked your phone this morning. The Internet is buzzling with news about your guest." The person said as he came in, he greeted me and sat down.

"What do you mean my guest?" James asked.

"Isn't she the one that danced with Rema on stage last night?" The man asked and James responded.

"Yes, she is."

"Rema is looking for her, he is pleading with Nigerians to help him look for her, that he has something to give her." The man said and James started laughing.

"That's a joke right?" James said but the man proved his words by showing them a video Rema made that morning.

"My fellow Nigerians and fans, I am looking for the very beautiful lady I danced with on stage last night. If any of you find her, please let me know, I have something to give her and I will really love to see her again." We all watched in awe.

Rema's looking for me? I was shocked and speechless.

"Do you want to meet him?" James asked me but I just kept staring like a fool, my heart was pounding. This is so amazing and yet unreal.

"I already posted online that I know her location and I am hoping Rema will see it soon." The man said to James surprise.

"You did that without telling us first?" James asked.

"What if he wants to reward the person that finds her. Guy I just did what I thought was best oo." The man said and left us alone.

James couldn't talk to me because I couldn't even hear him if he did. I was still in shock.

Later James came to meet me. He said to me that I needed to start going back to Ibadan so that he can see me off before going back to his work place in Abuja that morning.

"Rema texted me." I said to James surprise, "He did?" James asked me and I nodded.

"I replied him and he asked me to please go out with him on a casual date today, that he already planned a nice lunch for the both of us canceling a few things on my behalf." I explained to James.

"You do not need to go." James simply said and picked up my box to fold in the last dress laying on the bed.

I told him that I would go and asked that James leaves for Abuja today as decided, that I will find my way around until tomorrow when I will leave.

"You can't be serious, I can't leave you here in the hands of a stranger. What if something happens, then your family will hold me responsible because they already know me." James said refusing completely. I tried to convince him that I will be fine and even made it clear that I have already made up my mind and there was no stopping me.

"Rema is not a stranger, Rema is kind-hearted, loving and very sweet." I said to conclude my great convincing act.

"Hearing the way you are defending this guy, one would thing you know him personally. Anyways, I don't think I can convince you anymore and I can't stay back either to take care of you, do as you wish and I pray that so much as a hair on your head does not cut while you are with him or else I will make sure that Rema guy pays dearly."

"Rema guy? I thought you liked him?" I asked teasingly.

"Abeg, that was then or maybe I never did." James responded and quickly walked away.

James bought me a dress and I was so happy, it looked really beautiful and Rema would definitely like it on me, I was sure. James after trying to dissuade me again ordered two Uber for both of us, one to take him to the park and the other to take me to the meeting place with Rema.

"Be safe." He said and got into the Uber, I bid him farewell and also entered the Uber. I arrived at the destination at exactly quarter past twelve and went in, the security were just welcoming me with so much love like I was some kind of celebrity myself.

I also raised my shoulder in style and walked in elegantly, I didn't want to behave like a JJC. I was taken aback by the beauty of the restaurant, damn, he might have taken his time to pick out a restaurant because what the hell?.

Rema was already there, he smiled at me from afar and my heart started thumbing in my chest. I tried to comport myself remembering James words to me about not being too carried away.

"Glad you could make it." He said as he walked up to me and I did the same. Like a gentleman, he collected my very small bag and led me to our table. "You look very stunning." He complimented when we got to the table.

Rema drew a chair for me like a very polished man and I wished that I could take a video of that very moment.

"How have you been after last night?" He asked and I responded.

"I've been well and you?" We got talking and easily flowed. It seemed that we had quite a few things on common, our likes and dislikes. I got very comfortable with him that I no longer saw him as Rema but just an ordinary man who I have a crush on.

We later ordered for food and drinks. While we ate we continued talking, I even gave him marketing advice, imagine me giving "The Rema" advice, it was a bit funny.

We didn't even realize that it was past four when we finished talking, four and half hours of nonchalantly talking with Rema. I even ranted about why I came to Lagos and the entire story after that.

"James is a nice person." Rema praised him.

"I will like you to stay at my place, since you have nowhere else to stay." Rema offered to my surprise.

"Living together with you? No ooo. James left me some money, I will get an hotel and stay there till tomorrow before going back to Ibadan." I declined.

"And you think I will agree with that. I can't let you stress yourself by getting an hotel. I have another house here in Lagos where you can stay, so we are not staying together." Rema said and I smiled, I also agreed to stay at his place.

"It was very nice talking with you and I don't want to leave but I have to be somewhere now. One of my workers with show you to the house and get you comfortable but I will come to see you when I am back." Rema said and got up.

"No problem." I wished him good luck with whatever he was going to do.

OMG, Rema's house was so big and so nice. I was shown my room and couldn't close my mouth at it sight. I just allowed the worker to leave before screaming into the pillow.

"I need to call my mummy." I said to myself and brought out my phone. I told my mummy everything and even took pictures to send to her, she was happy for me and also asked me to be careful.

"Why do everyone keep saying that?" I wondered. I quickly went online to check the latest update and news from Tunde Ednut or yabaleftonline. There was news about me and Rema and they also took pictures of when we were coming out.

"Nigerians never let anything cross their eyes without posting." I said to myself and gushed at the pictures, they were really nice and we even looked like a real couple.

Rema could not come back that evening but he asked his personal assistant to inform me And so I ate alone. Rumours of Rema dating someone dominated the internet and it spread like wildfire.

Some were only curious to know what background the girl had, some dissolved it as just another rumor, some cursed my life finish for taking away their boyfriend Rema, some only wished Rema happiness despite who he dates and some simply turned it into comedy.

Bloggers began their search to unfold the truth and also posted lies when uncertain. Rema simply let the rumour continue and did nothing to clarify it and God knows that I didn't care either so I didn't even talk about it.

We talked as usual, my one day becoming a week in his house, we always went at night to big and exclusive restaurants to eat and played together at home, even had picnics at home.

One day after spending just two weeks in his house, Rema asked me to be his girlfriend, I accepted but we decided to keep it a secret for a while before telling the world.

Rema treated me like a queen, he kept buying me gifts that I didn't even ask for, took me out and showered me with care although he was usually busy. I would see him on stage while those crazy girls scream and try to hug him or take off their bra and give him.

Most of the things he got me, I sold some of them and sent the money home to my mummy to help me get a very big store and stock it up with female things and accessories.

My mummy advised me not to take things seriously with Rema to avoid later pain if he eventually ends the relationship. I didn't want to believe her, why would Rema end our relationship.

When Rema learnt that I have been selling the things he bought for me, he came to confront me about it.

"I am sorry." I said after explaining to him.

"You should have told me, I would have given you the money for your business. Well now, I am going to send some money into your account, I hope that's fine." He said to me and immediately transferred the money to my account.

We were happy, we were so happy when one day. Rema came back home to meet me with a solemn look on his face, I was worried, what could have happened to my baby. Rema asked me to sit with him, that he had something to discuss with me.

"Let's breakup." He said randomly and looked away.

What! Why? I asked, blinking my eyes severally unable to believe him.

"This, our relationship can't work. I don't see a future for us." Rema said still looking away from me.

"Can you be a little more direct, give me reasons why we can't work." My heart had already started aching and I could feel the pain.

"I can't tell the world that we are in a relationship, imagine all those female fans of mine finding out that I already have someone special, will they still be as crazy as they were before for me? My manager explained this to me and I totally agree with the thought." Rema explained better.

"Is that the reason you want to break my heart? That's the reason you want to cause me pain?" I asked unable to control my tears as they rolled out all at once.

"I am sorry for leading you on and I am sorry it has to end this way." Rema apologized.

"It's fine, you need to protect your career. I should have believed my mummy when she said that this wouldn't work. I will leave first thing tomorrow morning." I said to him.

"You don't have to leave, you can stay for as long as you want." He said and tried to hold my hand but I moved away.

"And what's the point of that?" I asked and he went silent. The very next day, I returned to Ibadan and fell into my mummy's arm crying my eyes out.

I should have known, even if he did show me to the world, I would be bullied by his female fans and won't be able to survive the cruel internet world.

We separated for reasons best known to us was what I told those who cared to listen to my story about being Rema's girlfriend once before.

Although they didn't believe it but I was Rema's girlfriend for real and no one can ever tell me otherwise. Not even you reading the story, so don't you dare call me DELULU.
