Suspect missing after being abducted from police cell in Lagos by masked men

26-year-old musician, Waidi Kabiru, was on Sunday, November 23, reportedly abducted from Igbogbo Police Station, Lagos State, by a three-man gang. According to Punch, the three man gang wore reportedly masks, sneaked into the station around 1am on Sunday and bundled him out of the cell. The state police command confirmed that Waidi, was arrested on Friday, November 21. but said he had been released on bail. The command, however, did not disclose the surety to whom the youth was released. Waidi's father, Mr. Bisiriyu Kabiru, said he had been visiting his son since he was arrested on Friday but that he had gone to the station to give him food on Sunday only to be told that he was no longer inside the cell. He said: "He called me on the phone around 9am on Friday that he was arrested during a raid and I went to the station to see him. One of the policemen I met asked me how much I had to bail him out and I said N4,000. But he told me it wasn't enou...

The golden Eaglets of Nigeria trash Mali 2:0 to retain the FIFA U- 17 World cup for a record fifth time. Nigeria missed the chance to score a first goal in the fourth minute when Mali's shot stopper, Samuel saved Ebere's spot kick and Ebere headed the rebound against the crossbar and the first half ended goal less. In the second half, Nigeria again hit the crossbar ass they were looking for the first goal and it finally came from the man of the moment, Victor Osimhen and minutes later, Funsho Bamgboye riffled a shot into the back of the net and Nigeria held on for a much deserved win.

Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure says Most African footballers need to show more desire to make it to the very top of the game. Toure, 30, is in the 10-man shortlist for candidates to win the African Footballer of the Year award. This is the fifth African Player of the year award he is going for. 20 year old Lady arrested for trying to sell her baby

Maria Ekanem sold her two week old baby to an Abuja-based woman for N20,000. According to a report by Vanguard, the 20-year-old school drop out from Odukpani Local Government Area of Cross River State, was arrested by the police along with her accomplices. Her boyfriend got her pregnant and asked her to abort the baby. However, a doctor agreed to help her with free antenatal care and food and in exchange she agreed to sell her baby after delivery. Paraded along with Ms Ekanem were the medical doctor, Okokon Offiong Okohon,55, the proprietor of Evangel Clinic,of 2, Atu Street, a 70-year-old matron of Sadatoe Maternity located at Umoh Street and a nurse. Middlesbrough defeat Manchester United 3:1 in penalty to reach Quarter finals

Manchester United were eliminated from the ongoing Carling cup by midddlesbrough at Old Trafford. The match was goal less after 90 minutes of normal time and 30 minutes of extra time which then made the contest enter a penalty shootout. Andres Perreira was the only Manchester United player that scored his own penalty kick, Wayne Rooney, Michael Carrick and Ashely Young all missed as Manchester united lost 3:1 at Old Trafford.

Congo beat Nigeria 2:0 yesterday

Congo beat Nigeria 2:0 in a friendly match on thursday. Goals from Dieumerci Mbokani and Jordon Nkolo secured the win for the leopards. The super eagles missed a good number of chances to level the game but the Congolese held on for the much needed victory for the Leopards. Nigeria now face Cameroon on Sunday in a bid to come back from the disappointing display.
